Eric Clapton may have been talking about a girl when he soulfully sang those words, but they are equally applicable to your favorite jeans.
*Denim is the comfort food of apparel. It's what you wear when you just want to be yourself, feel at home, be comforted, feel good!
*Denim is the wine of wearables. It just gets better with age. The more it fades, the better it feels!
*Denim is the scrapbook of fashion. You remember that favorite concert, your first date, a first kiss, a great party, that perfect game, when you slip into the jeans you wore. You want that great pair of jeans to be like those memories---last just one more day!
*Denim was meant to be cannibalized....to keep a piece of those memories, to comfort and remind you, to make you feel good.
Jeans were meant to be repurposed, recycled, not thrown away. Let’s find some ways to recycle and repurpose those special jeans.

This blue jean baby has crafting to do!

I love blue jeans. The only other fashion item that comes close to the greatness of blue jeans....flip flops. Throwing out a pair of ripped, torn, stained, or otherwise "ruined" jeans is just not in me to to. Not happening. As you can tell in the picture.

As you can tell, some of these have already been recycled once, sometimes twice. When you get orange paint on your jeans.....make them your October jeans by adding some pumpkins! If you are feeling like a real fashionista....make a t-shirt or sweatshirt to match! This pair of jeans has been worn so much and so long, they are as soft and thin as batiste. So comfortable. Unfortunately, my waistline did not thin out as well.

So, as my first post, I would love for you to share some of your repurposing ideas.

I need to start clearing out my stack of jeans.  PLEASE help me decide what to do with one pair of jeans! Please share your projects or suggestions!

In fact, let's make a contest of it! Please post a picture of your own favorite denim recyling project. Everyone "like" one comment other than your own. Vote only once, please.  The comment/picture with the most "likes" will win a prize. (I may just send you some extra jeans to recycle! LOL)

If you are a crafter with a website or blog, please feel free to share your link.
